10 years of the Living Thing!

The Living Thing has been going under its current name for 10 years, (ok, 10 years and 3 days) since I started it in 2009 at what is now the Fenner School of Environment and Society at the Australian National University, as a platform to blog my research and other unfiltered thoughts.

Originally it was at livingthing.org.au, but then the .org.au registrar decided I was not a non-profit, an assessment which in hindsight was over-generous. Since then I have been at livingthing.org and danmackinlay.name in various combinations. The old URLs all still work.

Of course, the origin story is even more complicated than that. There is content here and there from various previous incarnations of the blog from 2007, and maybe even a couple of bits from as early as 2004 or so. But… whatever. 10 years will do for the history books.

If I weren’t too busy using this accursed blog as an actual research tool, I might write something more to that theme. Most popular content or something.

As it is, I’m busy.
